Content Drip

The Content Drip feature allows you to release lessons, quizzes, and assignments based on your selected criteria. For example, you might want students to get access to course lessons on specific dates.

You will find this option under “Course settings” when editing or creating a course:

Click the “Enable” checkbox to activate Content Drip for the course. Then, select your preferred Content Drip type. Let us go over what these are:

1. Schedule Course Contents by Date #

This option requires you to set a date for every single content form (lesson, quiz, and assignment) to be released. If you do not set a date for a lesson, quiz, or assignment, it will appear instantly after the student enrolls.

2. Content Available After X Days From Enrollment #

Enabling this will add a number field to all content forms where you can set how many days it will take to unlock it. The starting date is the student’s enrollment date and will be counted from then onwards:

3. Course Content Available Sequentially #

This is the most basic content drip setting.

After enabling this option, you will not see any extra options inside lessons, quizzes, or assignments.

Enabling this will make it so that when one lesson is completed, the next one appears. That means this option checks for a student’s completed lesson, attempts for a quiz, and submits for assignments. If they have completed it, the next lesson will appear.

4. Course Content Unlocked After Finishing Prerequisites #

After enabling this option, you will be able to see the list of the pre-existing lessons and other content and select the ones required. Without completing those items, the lesson will not be visible to the student. You can set lessons, quizzes, and assignments as a prerequisite.

Note: If a student attempts a quiz, they will be allowed to move on to the new lesson or the following quiz or assignment. Passing the quiz is not required.

Similarly, if a student submits an assignment, they would be allowed to move to the next step. Getting the assignment reviewed or graded is not required.

If you want to make passing a quiz required to access the next content, it is possible with the Advanced Quiz settings.
